Ardene Allison Obituary

Ardene Mae Allison
Huron – Ardene Mae Allison (nee: Green), 79 years of age, and a resident of Huron, passed away Monday, November 4, 2013, at her home following a courageous battle with cancer.
Ardene was born September 18, 1934, in Minneapolis, Minnesota and was raised in Swift, MN. She lived for thirty years in Amherst before moving to Huron where she had made her home for the last nineteen years.
Ardene was not only a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother but also a long time librarian for the Amherst Public Library. She was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling, but most of all enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include her loving husband of sixty-one years Harry E. Allison, Sr.; her sons and their wives Harry "Skeet" E. Jr., and Pamela Allison of Huron and Donald and Annette Allison of Amherst; her daughters and their husbands Mary Kaye "Micki" and Tim Chambers of Oswego, Illinois, and Joyce and Mike Sklarek of Akron, Ohio; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; her sisters Faith Seals of Huron and Charlotte Ransick of Amherst.
Ardene was preceded in death by her sisters Janice Woodruff and Katherine Clement; and her parents Charley and Caroline Green (nee: Beadle).
Friends may call Friday, Nov 8th, 2013, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held on Saturday 11a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Peak Cemetery, Berlin Heights, Ohio.
The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to the angels who cared for Ardene and request that memorial gifts that are given be made in Ardene's memory to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, Ohio 44870.
