Duane Horn Obituary
Duane was born on Dec. 9, 1957 in Independence, the son of DeVere L. and Ruth M. (Strempke) Horn. He was a 1976 graduate of the East Buchanan High School, Winthrop, and on Dec. 9 1978 he was married to Cindy S. Ciesielski at St. John's Catholic Church in Independence. Duane farmed and was a Team Leader for Viafield in Arlington.
He loved to spend time with his family and friends enjoying a cool beverage on the back porch of his home.
He is survived by his wife Cindy; five children: Jill (Travis) Davis, Joni (Nick) Leymaster, Jennifer (Kyle Stanfield) Horn, all of Marion, Angela Horn, Springville, and Dusty (Leslye) Horn, Oelwein; seven grandchildren: Brendyn, Kale, Brady, Zac, McKenna, Brooklyn, and Jaycie; a sister, Linda (Roger) Falconer, Center Point; and a brother, Darrell (Theresa) Horn, Independence; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Independence with Rev. Scott Meador officiating. Burial will be in the Wilson cemetery, Independence. Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
