Tim Sexton Obituary
Services were held Friday, September 5, 2025, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Pastor Jamisen Hancock, pastor of Briarwood Church, officiating. Cremation followed the service under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Tim was born July 1, 1962, in Waterloo, Iowa to Lavonne and Clark M. Sexton, Jr. He graduated from Jesup High School in 1980 and completed his mechanic's certification from Hawkeye Community College. In 1980, he moved to Pampa and met Diana Gaye Higgins, they would later marry on August 28, 1993, in Ketchikan, Alaska.
The two of them moved to Austin, Texas where he worked for a Chevrolet dealership as their top mechanic from 1982 until the early 1990s. Tim and Diane moved to Ketchikan, Alaska for Tim to work in another Chevrolet dealership for almost ten years before moving to Sweet Home, Oregon. In 2002, they returned to Pampa to work for Rasco Construction until 2015, when it sold to High Performance Exterior and Glass. Tim retired in 2023.
Tim appeared to be gruff on the outside, but once you knew him, he was a kind and gentle person. He loved his wife and son, Jacob.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Diana on April 2, 2019; father, Clark Sexton, Jr.; stepfather, Don Heiselman; his paternal and maternal grandparents; his mother and father-in-law; and brother-in-law, David Suiter.
Survivors include his son, Jacob of Pampa; mother, Lavonne Heiselman of Jesup; brother, Greg Sexton (Cindy Cable) of Waterloo; sisters, Margaret "Peg" Suiter (Mike Madorin) of Jesup, and Angela "Ange" (Gary) Miller of Dike, Iowa; a sister-in-law; a brother-in-law; nephew, Damen (Melissa) Weltzin of Jesup; nieces, Callie (Tyler) Carson of Central City, Iowa, and Jenna Miller (Scott Mau) of Cedar Falls, Iowa; great nieces, Layla Miller and Haydon Weltzin; great nephews: Gable Weltzin, Oliver Weltzin, and Milo Carson.
Carmichael - Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory, Pampa, assisted the family with arrangements.
