Saundra Roberts Obituary

Saundra Ann Roberts was born on Dec. 5, 1954, in Hay Springs, Neb. to Bob and Frances Bachmann.

Saundra departed this life on Sunday, Nov. 18, 2018, in Cheyenne Wells.

She has three sisters and one brother.

After graduation she moved to Alliance, Neb. where she married Michael Bruner and welcomed her first son, Jason.

Later, Saundra and Jason moved to Loveland, where she met Clifford Roberts.

They were married for 22 years and had two children together, Matt and Kelsey.

Saundra loved living on the farm and would always be found out in the fields, with the kids in tow.

She was extremely hard working but also had the most amazing heart.

She would be up at the crack of dawn to tackle her home improvement projects or nurture a sick calf by the oven in the winter.

Saun's love for photography started with her developing black and white photos in our bathroom and later led to the opening of Reflections Photography in Cheyenne Wells.

It was not very often that you would catch her without a camera or video recorder.

She worked at the Cheyenne Wells Housing Authority for over 20 years.

Within the last few years, she was a partner with her son and daughter-in-law in their photography business, Angle of View.

Saundra was very involved in the community and wanted to make a place anyone would want to live.

Even though it made her feel "old", her grandkids, Jude and Quinn, lit up her world.

When Jude was born, Saundra made it very clear that she was not going to be called grandma.

Inspired by her love of Italy, she decided that she would be called Nonna, which translates to "grandma" in Italian.

She loved to travel and lived a full and exciting life. Her laugh and happiness were contagious and could be heard before you even spotted her.

She was the most amazing mom and cherished her children and grandchildren. She even took on the role of a second mom to many of our friends along the years.

We are all in awe of the many lives she touched.

Although it is impossible, she would not want us to weep today.

She would want us to gather together and share all of the crazy memories we have made. Saundra would have wanted a celebration of life and boy, did she live an amazing one!

The wonderful life of Saundra Roberts was celebrated on Monday, Nov. 26, 2018, at the old Cheyenne Wells High School with Pastor Wes Thompson officiating.

Casket bearers were: Matt Roberts, Jason Roberts, Jim Bachmann, Cliff Roberts, Damon Roberts, Drew Letcher and Don May.

Honorary casket bearers were: LaVern Hankins, Mickey Myrick, Jim Pimentel, Delray Bassett, Isaac Bachmann, Tanner Letcher, Jude Roberts, Bill Lowe and multiple nieces and nephews.
