Brian Blais Obituary

Brian Christopher Blais

It is with great sadness that the family of Brian Christopher Blais announces his passing on June 30, 2021, at the age of thirty-eight, unexpectedly due to heart complications.

Born August 12, 1982, in Burlington Vermont to Donald Blais and Karen Medor, Brian spent his younger years in Chazy before moving to Highgate, VT. He graduated from MVU in 2001 and went on to work in the rock stabilization field for Janod, Clark, GSI, and finally APEX working for one of his closest friends. Brian loved being surrounded by family and friends and was known by all as a truly loving and altruistic man. Every year he looked forward to celebrating his favorite holiday, July Fourth, and counted down the days until his annual family hunting trip over the week of Thanksgiving. During this trip his inferior poker face would truly shine through when challenged by his nephew. Brian not only loved celebrating these holidays and playing cards with friends, but also enjoyed watching a good movie in his pastime.

He is survived by his daughter Savannah, father Donald of Pittsburgh, NH, step father Perley Medor of Highgate, VT, and his brothers Mark (Sharon) Blais of Champlain and Gregg (Alicia) Blais of Blackbrook. Brian is also survived by his nieces and nephews Trent, Olivia, Jesse, and Kira in addition to many aunts and uncles that were loved dearly. He was predeceased by his mother, Karen (2010) and wife, Anila (2020).

Brian's ability to leave an everlasting mark on anyone who knew him was evident not only to his family but also his friends that span across the country from the west coast all the way to the North Country, where his roots always remained grounded. A celebration of life for all friends and family will be held at a later date and donations can be made in memory of Brian to his favorite organizations; The Wounded Warrior Project and The SPCA.
