Brian Shepard Obituary

Brian K. Shepard

Age: 56 • Grand Isle, VT

Brian K. Shepard, 56, of Grand Isle, VT passed away on Friday, August 5, 2016 following a car accident. Brian was born on March 25, 1960 to the parents of Neil and Barbara Shepard of Colchester, VT. Brian will be remembered for his love of his son, Ryan Shepard, his life partner, Jane Gauthier, and his parents, family and friends. Brian was a self-made skilled craftsman and often worked closely with his father; you could often hear them laughing together. He was a loving father to Ryan and they shared a love of motocross. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was a kind and gentle soul. He was a great friend to many and was much loved. He will be terribly missed.

He also leaves behind, Cynthia (sister) and Joseph DeBenedetto, Sharon Shepard (sister) and Jim Rinderle, Lorri Shepard, his nieces and nephews—Adam Smith, Melissa Gebo, Amanda and Allyson Rinderle, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you perform an act of kindness to a stranger letting them know it is from our beloved Brian— helping him leave his footprint for a better world.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 on Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at Holy Cross Church, 416 Church Road, Colchester, VT. Reception to follow. Family invites you to share your memories at www.awrfh.com.

Neil & Barbara,
On behalf of the Neary family, we send our heartfelt sympathies for your loss. I remember Brian from grade school and have posted a photo of our 5th grade class. Mom used to joke that he was my first roommate (at Mary Fletcher Hospital). May your fond memories, photos and the remembrances from friends and family bring you comfort and peace.

God bless,
Lisa (Neary) Leduc

I have heard the news, read the obituary and been to the funeral, yet somehow it still seems so unreal. I can't remember a time in my life that I did not know "Sheppy" and it saddens me deeply that he is gone from this earth.
My heart aches for so many. Jane, too banged up to make it to the service and facing life without her best friend. Ryan forced to live life without his dad's unconditional love. Brian's doting parents, Neil and Barbara, having to endure the grief of losing their most beloved son.
I will never forget the fun times we have had over the years and I will miss you my friend. Rest in Peace Brian, catch ya on the flip side.

So long old friend. The shock of your sudden passing has rattled me . I am now left with memories. They all make me smile. You were truly one of a kind. I know in the next life you are soaring high above us. My thoughts and prayers I send to your family. This place surely is darker without your smile and laughter. I love you man.
