CRAIG LEWIS Obituary

CRAIG E. LEWIS - MILTON - Craig Edwin Lewis, 72, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at his home in Milton. Craig was born on Nov. 22, 1940, in Rutland, the son of Edwin and Leora (Richards) Lewis. On Oct. 16, 1971, he married Margaret Letourneau in Burlington. He had been employed by Vermont Transit for over 42 years, retiring in 2004. Craig also worked for John Leo and Sons for over 20 years. His favorite past times included stock car racing, setting up his Lionel Trains and anything John Deere related. Craig will be remembered for his story telling and his quick witted sense of humor. In addition to his wife Peggy, he is survived by his daughters, Kathryn White and her husband, Jesse, of St. Albans, and Karen Betts and her husband, Ethan, of Epping, N.H.; by his grandchildren, Eliza, Evan and Erik White, and Isla Betts; his niece, Laurie Brisbin; and nephews, Todd and Troy Liberty. Craig is also survived by his father-in-law, Donald Letourneau and his wife, Barbara; his brothers-in-law, David, John, Robert, Thomas, George and Donald Letourneau; and his sisters-in-law, Mary Lockerby, Lynn Barnett, Leslie Curry and Laura Lesage; and by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; his sister, Lynne Liberty; and his mother-in-law, Constance Letourneau. Craig's family would like to extend special thanks to the Dialysis Unit at the NWMC in St. Albans, as well as Dr. Axelrod and Dr. Jayne of Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center for the excellent care given him during his illness. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 7, 2013, at 10 a.m. in the Minor Funeral and Cremation Center in Milton. Burial will follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Fair Haven. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2013, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Online condolences may be made to www.minorfh.com.
