Daniel Sweeney Obituary
Age: 34 • Canton
Funeral service for Daniel L. Sweeney, 34, of Canton, will be held on Monday, January 25, 2016 at 6:00 PM at the O'Leary Funeral Home, Canton with Pastor Steven Rockhill of the Lisbon Reformed Presbyterian Church, officiating. Daniel passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 21, 2016.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 25, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM and from 4:00 PM until the time of the service. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Lisbon Reformed Presbyterian Church; P.O. Box 88; Lisbon, New York 13658.
Daniel is survived by his parents, William and Doreen Sweeney of Canton; by three sisters, Erin and Claire Sweeney of Canton and Emily Sweeney of New York City. Also surviving are several Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
Daniel is predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Reginald Sweeney and Jane Sweeney-Strader, by his maternal grandparents, James and Iola Winegar, by an Uncle Gerald Jenkins and by a cousin, Jared Germain.
Daniel was born, June 4, 1981 in Burlington, Vermont, the son of William and Doreen (Winegar) Sweeney. He graduated from Salmon River Central School and received a Master of Education from SUNY Potsdam. He and his parents were partners in the Sweeney Dairy Farm on the Old DeKalb Road, Canton. Daniel was a member of the Lisbon Reformed Presbyterian Church.
