David Rogerson Obituary
South Hero - David A. Rogerson, 69, of South Hero passed away unexpectedly Sunday, July 21, 2019.
He was born on October 27, 1949 in Quebec City, son of Christopher and Colleen (Barber) Rogerson. He was married to the love of his life, Evelyn (Albert) Rogerson for 46 years.
A long time resident of Essex, David began his career at General Electric and continued at Digital Equipment before founding his own consulting firm, which he retired from in 2017. He was a dedicated member of his community serving several years on the Essex School Board, Essex Planning Commission, and Essex Selectboard after many years of involvement in his children's youth sports and activities. His community dedication didn't stop there as David continued to serve on boards in his Apple Island Resort and Del Webb communities during retirement. David was a Veteran of the Vietnam Era after serving in the US Air Force. Hobbies included playing guitar, sailing, golfing, and traveling.
In addition to his wife, David is survived by his daughter, Nicole Drake and her husband, Jeremy; his son, Mathew Rogerson and his wife, Nichole Nason; his grandchildren Olivia and Noah Drake; his sister Nancy Peschel and her husband Jim; as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held today Wednesday, July 24, 2019 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the Ready Funeral Home Mountain View Chapel 68 Pinecrest Drive in Essex Jct. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Lawrence Catholic Church Thursday July 25, 2019 at 11:00 am with burial to follow at Holy Family Cemetery in Essex. I knew Dave during the time he served the Essex Junction community as a School Board member. He impressed me as a caring person who always worked to find consensus between differing points of view. Whenever we talked, it was clear how much he loved his family. I'm saddened to hear of your loss.

VeeVee, Can't tell you how much we are going to miss Dave. He was such a diplomat as well as a kind and loving person and so generous with his time. He always put in 100% of himself in whatever project he was involved in. You two are such great friends and we hope to continue our friendship with you now that he is no longer with us.

My heart sinks with deep sadness upon reading of Dave's passing. My maiden name is Bonnie Ouellette, sister of Marty (Martin Ouellette). Fond memories back in the days of MHS.
