DOROTHY HAMMILL Obituary

DOROTHY M. HAMMILL - MALONE, N.Y. - Dorothy M. Hammill, 82, of Malone, N.Y., passed away Wednesday night, July 4, 2012, at her home, while under the loving care of her family and Hospice of the North Country, Inc. Born in Bellmont, N.Y., June 13, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary Atwood King. She attended local schools. On Aug. 25, 1956, she was united in marriage to John L. Hammill at St. John Bosco Church in Malone, by the late Rev. Revette. Her husband predeceased her on April 3, 2004. Prior to her marriage, Dorothy was employed on the Langdon Farm and for Warner Brothers. She later worked in the Physical Therapy Department of the Alice Hyde Hospital. Dorothy was a communicant of Notre Dame Church. She enjoyed flower gardening, camping, country music and spending time with her family, especially her dog, "Max." Survivors include one son, Troy Hammill and his companion, Karen Robert, of Swanton; one daughter, Tina Hammill of Malone; two sisters-in-law, Bernice King of Burke, N.Y., and Erma White of Malone; one brother-in-law, James Hammill of Constable, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, Leonard and Arlington King; and four sisters, Margaret Martin, Olive Soulia, Elizabeth King, and Lillian Robbins. Calling hours will be Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 a.m. in Notre Dame Church in Malone. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Arrangements are through the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Service, Inc. Donations may be made in her memory to Hospice of the North Country, Inc.
