ELEANOR WEBSTER Obituary

ELEANOR OVITT ADAMS WEBSTER - GEORGIA - Eleanor Ovitt Adams Webster, 96, a longtime resident of Georgia, passed away Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, in the Holiday House. She was born on Hill Road in Fairfield on Aug. 21, 1916, the daughter of the late William J. and Lizzie M. (Hill) Adams. The family moved to Georgia when she was six years old. On May 4, 1935, she married Kenneth Webster of Georgia, who predeceased her on Oct. 29, 1990. She was a member of the Georgia United Methodist Church, the Georgia Historical Society and the Green Mountain Quilters Guild. Eleanor was a homemaker and was devoted to her family. For many years she baby-sat her grand- children and several neighbors' children. She was active in the Mother's Club at the Loomis School, putting on card parties and other events, and served on many committees and fundraising events at church. Quilt-making was one of her favorite hobbies, of which she made several. Each child and grandchild received one, and the rest were sold at craft shows. She also enjoyed braiding rugs and took courses in woodworking and chair-caning. Her favorite pastimes were playing the card games "500" and solitaire, watching the birds at the feeders, especially cardinals and hummingbirds, and she also enjoyed the "Soaps," the "Price is Right" and "Jeopardy." Survivors include her four children, Josephine Webster of Georgia, Roger Webster of Georgia and fiancée, Sally Matthews, of Essex Junction, Lynda Bushey and husband, Allan, of Enosburg, and Kevin Webster of Georgia; half sister, Elaine Preston and husband, Duane, of Fairfax; stepsister-in-law, Ruby Burnor of Georgia; nine grandchildren, Wayne Bushey, Amy and Raymond Bosley, Sheila and Henry Bean, Kenneth and Nohelia Webster, Keith and Josephina Webster, Sheena and Sean Sullivan, Sonya Webster, Christina Webster and fiancé, Dwayne Trayah, and Matthew and Danielle Webster; several great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Marion Young; three brothers, Kenneth, Robert and George Adams; three half sisters, Gladys Trayah, Florence Getty, and Dorothy Trayah; stepsister, Myrtle Young; and two stepbrothers, Delbert and Robert "Peter" Burnor. The family would like to thank Dr. Frank Zsoldos, the staff at Franklin County Rehab, the Holiday House and Franklin County Hospice for their caring and support. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 So. Main St., St. Albans. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at 11 a.m. in the Georgia United Methodist Church on Ethan Allen Highway. Interment will follow in the family lot in Georgia Plain Cemetery. My sympathy to the Webster and Bushey families. She was like another grandmother to me as a child. I can remember the days of going to Grandma and Grandpa Webster's farm. I have a lot of wonderful memories. Halloween was such treat. Jo would be stirring the witches brew, while grandma would n saying help yourself to all of her homemade goodies. Kevin would hiding somewhere to scare the bejesus out of you. Even after I was married and had my own children we always went to her house for Halloween. She will be missed dearly. You are on my thoughts and prayers. God Bless
