FEDOR "FRED" OLSZANSKYJ

FEDOR "FRED" OLSZANSKYJ - MASON, N.H. - Fedor "Fred" Olszanskyj, 65, of Mason, N.H., died suddenly on Feb. 17, 2012, of natural causes. Fred was born to the late Serhij and Serafina Olszanskyj, on Sept. 29, 1946, in Germany. Fred graduated from The Loomis School in Windsor, Conn. in 1964, and received a bachelor's degree in business from Rutgers University in 1968, and an M.B.A. from the University of Vermont in 1979. Fred lived most of his life throughout New England. He worked at numerous defense and aerospace companies in various leadership positions, most recently as Program Manager for BAE Systems in Nashua, N.H. Fred was a mechanical engineer at heart, legendary for handcrafting an automobile of his own design. He also co-authored a patent on airbag inflation. Fred was an avid modeler of radio-controlled airplanes and model trains. He also enjoyed fishing, reading, and a good martini. Fred will forever be loved and remembered by his son, Serge Olszanskyj of Salt Lake City, Utah; fiancee, Marie Pepi of Mason, N.H., and her extended family; and daughter-in-law and grandson, Maura and Greg Olszanskyj, also of Salt Lake City, Utah. A celebration in honor of Fred's life will be held for family and friends on April 28, 2012, from 12 to 3 p.m. at Giorgio's Restaurant, Milford, N.H.
