Ila Bowdish, age 94, of Weybridge passed away peacefully on April 17, 2016 at her home in Weybridge, surrounded by her family. Ila is predeceased by her husband Edward Bowdish, Jr of Weybridge, sisters Velma St. Jock and Lula Simonds, and her grandson Aron Bowdish.
Ila is survived by her sons Mark Drew and his wife Sally of Wolcott, Robert Bowdish and his wife Phyllis of Weybridge, Joseph Bowdish and his wife Alice of Oklahoma, Michael Bowdish and his wife Lisa of Salisbury.
Ila is survived by her grandchildren whom she cherished greatly: Eric Bowdish and his wife Louise, Audra Ouellette and her husband Dean, Kristine Bowdish, Martha Bowdish, Jack Bowdish, Brian Bowdish, Kevin Bowdish and his wife Melissa, and Austin Bowdish and his wife Christian. Ila is survived by her great-grandchildren: Jon, Alex, Alexis, Matthew, Liberty, Patrick, Briana, Hayden, Michael, and Makenna.
Ila was a nurse by professional, a poet by heart, but most important in her life was her family. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. Her love and generosity for others inspired loyalty, reverence, and admiration from community and family alike. She was an active member of the Weybridge Congregational Church and a long time leader with the Weybridge Willing Workers 4-H Club. Ila was cared for by her family and many wonderful persons from Addison County Home Health and Hospice in her last days.
Visiting hours are on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Sanderson Funeral Home located at 117 South Main Street in Middlebury. Funeral Services will be on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at the Weybridge Congregational Church at 10:00 am followed by a committal and graveside prayer at the Weybridge Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers please make donations in her memory to Addison County Home Health and Hospice PO Box 754 Middlebury, Vermont or the Addison County 4-H Foundation C/O UVM Extension Office 23 Pond Lane Suite 300 Middlebury, Vermont.

Dear Ones,
The families of Shirley Eldred Brown, daughter of Ila's Uncle Maurice and Aunt Hersa Eldred, of Belvidere, are thinking of you all during this hard time. Ila was always so pleasant to visit with at the Eldred family reunions. Joy just radiated from her face. Please know that our families are grieving for her along with yours.

I just read about Ila's passing. My brother and myself are her cousins. Our Mothers were sisters. We are sad to learn of her death but she is now with her loved ones who have welcomed her to a blessed reunion. Rest in peace, Ila.
