JEFFREY GOODRICH Obituary

JEFFREY CHARLES GOODRICH - COLCHESTER - On Aug. 27, 2011, at age 50, Jeff's soul passed from this earth to rest for eternity, at peace and free from pain. Born in Burlington on Aug. 12, 1961, to James and Kathyleen Goodrich, now living in Albany, Vt., Jeff graduated from CVU. He was a proud Navy veteran. His life's work was with car sales and he had a passion for classic automobiles. Jeff leaves a daughter, Alyssa; brother, Andrew Goodrich and wife, Katherine, and sister, Jennifer Woods and husband, Jon, all of Essex; three nephews, Jared and Jordan Goodrich of Essex, and Daniel Woods of Burlington; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was also "Dad" to a daughter of the heart, Lauryn Ticehurst of Champlain, N.Y. Jeff is sadly missed by his loyal cat, Ozzie. Services for Jeff will be private and his body will be committed to the sea by the U.S. Navy. Donations in Jeffrey's memory may be made to your favorite food shelf. Corbin and Palmer of Essex are in charge of arrangements.

Dear Kathy & Jim--I just found out that Jeff passed away and my heart is filled with such sadness. I just want you to know how much he meant to me and how much I loved him.

When we first met back in 1980, I had a hard time trusting people. The more he pushed, the more I backed away. But he was so persistent! He would never give up. Over time, I got to see how special he was. Trusting him was easy. Loving him was even easier. He was wonderful, and funny. He was caring and kind. He was gentle, and tender and patient. He made me feel safe and loved, and I love him so much for that.

Even though it's been almost 30 years since Jeff and I were together, I can still see his big-blue eyes and his beautiful smile. I can hear his laugh. I can feel his hugs. The days and nights we spent together were some of the most beautiful times of my life.

I wish I could stand in front of him right now and tell him how I feel, but I can't. I regret that I'll never have the chance. My only hope is that he's listening from heaven.

I have been married to my husband for almost 25 years now and love him dearly. But Jeff...Jeff will always be my first love. I will always miss him. I will always love him. Susan Kirby Moreau

I've thought about Jeff since high school and often wondered how he was doing. Oddly enough after 30 years, when we ran into each other last year we both recognized each other. It was great to be able to catch up. Jeff was a great guy and will be missed. I'm very sorry for your loss. My mom sends her condolances too.
