To Ernie and Dee and the entire Pomerleau/Halnon Family,
I just heard the news through a fundraiser story on WCAX. I'm still in shock, the tears won't stop. All at once I find out she fell in love, married and God called her home. She was someone that was there for her family, friends and just anyone that needed her. She loved her family and she had the BEST and they had the best. It's so hard to understand and I can't even put into words. I pray your soul and spirt are free and I will always be grateful for having the honor of knowing you.

A truly beautiful person on the inside and out. We bonded over our pride as Catamounts, and I am truly sorry to hear we have lost such a bright soul. May her memory be a blessing to all.

I had the pleasure of meeting Jess for the first, and unfortunately, the only time, in February of 2020. Light, and joy, and life beamed from her eyes and smile. I knew I was with an extraordinary human being.
My deep condolences to all of her family and friends.

Dear Ernie and Dee,
We are saddened to learn of Jess's passing. Life is so fragile, loss so sudden. In the days, weeks and months that
pass over the years those fond memories of Jess will assuage your grief. An extraordinary talent with love and compassion for life and those less fortunate who she touched with her grace and humility. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your Family at this time. A profound loss.
Our sincere and deepest condolences.

I can not put into words how sorry I am for your loss. I was so happy to see her beautiful wedding pictures, where in each she is glowing with the love and happiness that she found. The world was a better place with her in it. Jessica was such a wonderful person. Without a doubt one of my favorite students. Jess with her big smile, adorable laugh and endless kindness found her way into my heart, as I know she had done with so many. Please find some solace in knowing how much she touched the lives of her Ringling family. She is missed very much already.

My deepest condolences to her family & loved ones on such a loss, felt so keenly by everyone who knew her. Peace, love and prayers to you during this very difficult time.

Dear Ernie & Dee, Brian & Alice, Terry, Drew, ....... I can only imagine how heartbroken you all are and can’t help but think of the hundreds of sympathy cards Ernie sent out from the Pomerleau office over the years to comfort others in their times of grief, myself included. All I can think to say right now is “Look! Here she comes!”
With love,

I was the mailman on Church Street for over a decade I was always such a pleasure to walk into Jess Boutique. There was always time for a few minutes of greeting I was made to feel so welcome there. She was a force on church street and her smile and personality will be missed

I'm so terribly sorry to read that Jess passed away. I vividly remember meeting her when she was a senior in high school looking at colleges as I work at UVM in the Admissions Office. She was such a stand out and such an impressive young woman with a grace and smile that was very special. We were so fortunate she attended UVM where she graced our campus in countless ways. She was an admissions tour guide and our visitors raved about their interactions with Jess. She was an exemplary UVM ambassador. I'm deeply sorry her time on Earth was so short and sending love and light to her family and friends.

What a shock to hear & also read this obituary that Jessica, the pretty little girl who was born on 9.19.89 eight days after her birthing class companion Sara Jane 9.11.89 has passed away. Tears fill my eyes as I write this remembrance, of the many happy gone by days Ernie & Dee enjoyed with their new precious little girl and the successful & accomplished lady she became. It is so sad to have such a beautiful, wonderful, radiant daughter, wife and dog lover leave this world so soon. Jessica will forever be missed big time and fondly remembered long time. May God bless and shine his light upon her as he welcomes her at the Pearly Gates of Heaven. Larry & Patricia Brett

Dear Dee and Ernie,
Though I met Jess once only, she made a strong impression at our last SMC reunion. She glowed with an absolutely beautiful light. Wendy knew Jess from her Church Street store; it was her favorite place in Burlington. Please accept our heartfelt condolences and prayers for the repose of Jess’ soul.

I am not at all a surprised at how graciously and dignified you all have been in sharing the loss of Jessica. Yet, underneath all of that, you have had to each walk the long, slow and painful steps to this outcome. Your vigil has been long. There is nothing that can ease that burden. My condolences to Jameson on the loss of your beautiful wife and life partner. Though your time together was much too short, it is a beautiful love story. And, to Ernie and Dee, my heart breaks for you. While we don't really know each other, I know your devotion to family comes from the deepest part of you. My sincere sympathies for your loss of your beautiful daughter. And to the extended Pomerleau and Halnon families, know that your loss has been felt by all of us and we hold you in our hearts as you navigate this difficult journey.
Sincerely, Mary Collins (a friend of Dennis)

Jessica was my student In Into to Philosophy at UVM. She was a ray of sunshine. This is just crushing to hear. I’m so very sorry for your loss. I have thought of her every time I walk by the family house or down Church Street, and often in between. I kept meaning to stop in for a visit at the shop, but then COVID hit. I wish I had risked it anyway. She was such a positive young woman and I won’t ever forget her.

Ernie and Dee, I was Anne Marie's personal assistant towards the end of her life. I wish I had been given the opportunity to know Jessica. She sounds like such a loving, giving woman. I am sure Anne Marie is keeping Jessica laughing with stories about Ernie as a child. Please let all the good memories of both of them help you thru this extremely difficult time. The world needs more Jessicas.
