Dear Family of Dr.Bart,
I have just received word of Dr. Bart's passing. I met him when I was a recently ordained transitional deacon assigned to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Wells, Vermont. Dr. Bart was a wonderful man and doctor. I have some of the maple syrup from his trees that I can remember him by. My prayers and thoughts are with you at this time of transition.

I am so sorry to hear of Barts Passing. I am sorry for myself that I wont be able to go see him and talk to him in his Vermont home. I was always blessed to talk to him and Betts.

I called Dr. Bart when my Mother was having issues with her stomach. I asked Bart and he looked over my Mom's records and called her Dr. He was a true Gentleman. I truly will miss Bart. God BLess, I will see you when I come into the next kingdom.

Dear Bart's family,
We are very saddened by the loss of our very dear neighbor, Bart. What a wonderful guy he was. Kind, compassionate, humble, smart, and very hard working. He did love his Vermont home and property; and it showed, in its park-like condition. Wes and I always knew that Spring was indeed here, when we saw Bart return to care for his place.
He would be arriving just about now. Please know that he will be so missed.
Our condolences to you all. Barbara and Wes Sawyer

Pat and I will miss Bart at Charter House and I'll miss him at Poet's. He was a good friend and colleague. He was kind to every person he met.

My deepest sympathy to the family of Dr. Bart, especially to Lynn, from the Howland family. Bart was my husband Al's roommate in Hanover when he returned from WW2 until he found a place to live. When Bart was starting his fellowship at Mayo in April 1949, my husband Al brought one of the children's tricycle to Rochester from Hanover as it was at that time were being married in Rochester. He also was kind enough to bring my mother, Mathilda Wachholz, from Rochester to Akron on his way to Vermont. Al passed away in 2004 and is buried in Rochester. My daughter Ann lives in Fairport NY and daughter Nancy in Glens Falls NY. God Bless you. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Ann Howland-Coone, Nancy Howland and Dorothy Howland.

Very fond memories of Bart as a role model and eventually as a colleague in the Division.

To all of Barts family and friends,
I send my deepest condolences. Our world has lost a great Man, Doctor and Friend. I am so proud and fortunate to have had him in my life. Such a wonderful individual that will be greatly missed in our community. Always there for anyone who needed his help or advice. One spring he came to Vt early just because i called for advice when my Doctors where at a loss. Just last summer he got a close friend of mine on the right track and healthy again when his Dr. had given up. He was truly a "AMAZING DOCTOR" that didn't do it for the money,he did it for the goodness of mankind. God bless you Bart.
