MARION PINE Obituary

MARION R. PINE NEW PALTZ, N.Y. - Marion R. Pine, age 105, of New Paltz, N.Y., died after a brief illness on Monday, July 8, 2013, in the comfort her home and surrounded by her family. She was born June 18, 1908, in Michigan. After a few years performing in various Vaudeville troupes, Marion and Gordon settled in Gordon's hometown of New Paltz in 1936. Marion was a funeral director from 1957-1988 at the Pine Funeral Home, Inc. She belonged to the Reformed Church of New Paltz, and was active in many community organizations. Marion was a unique person who always asked what was going on in your life and listened intently with her warm smile. Her family bragged about her amazing physical and mental health, and her gift of making everyone feel special. A warm, humorous, and generous person, Marion lived by the motto: "you don't stop laughing because you grow old, you grow old because you stop laughing." Marion was the mother of Vanderlyn Pine and Thomas Pine, of New Paltz; and grandmother to Gordon Pine, Paula Agor (Va.), Brian Pine (Vt.), Daniel Pine, and Brenda Bryan (Mass.). Also surviving are 12 greatgrandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. To express condolences and to get a more complete account of Marion's life, please go to www.copelandfhnp.com.
