My husband and I are so saddened to hear of Mike's passing. Whenever he called or visited us regarding our home, he was such a professional, as well as a gentleman. We always got a chuckle when he called me "Mrs. Dempsey", as I would in return call him "Mr. Lavoie". He'd always say, "I don't deserve to be called that." Indeed he did. Christy, I am so sorry to hear about Mike. I wanted to be there for you but I was not in town and I found out while I was out of town. The thing that I will always remember about Mike is that he was always bringing you flowers at work and how I got to enjoy them as well!! They say time heals and it will but just take every day one at a time and enjoy your kids because they are a part of Mike. Again so sorry for you and your family. If you need anything please know that I am here, I would love to get together with you and our kids.

My sincerest condolences to Mike's family. I met Mike when he would come to Burlington Public Works to get permits. His smile never failed to make my day and I will always be grateful that I got to see him before he passed. RIP Mike, you will be missed!

Mike Sr. We have been friends a long time and during that time we have shared many events in our lives, our children are but one of them. I want to thank you so much for sharing Junior with me over the years and for allowing me to watch him grow from a small child to such a fine loving and caring man. He will be missed by many. How blessed we feel for having been touched by his amazing spirit. Mike would burst into the house at 80 miles a minute, take excellent care of everything that needed his attention - and then some, share his opinions (of which there were many), and then not unlike Superman, say something like, "My job here is done," and fly out of the house as fast as he entered. Imagine looking forward to a visit from your plumber!

I went to school with Mike. Mike was such a good natured kid. He always made people laugh and made school fun to go to. It's sad what he and his family went through. He was too young. I will miss him. I'm so very sorry for the family's loss. My memories of Mike will always remain fresh in my heart.

I worked at Lucky Lance store and so enjoyed joking with Michael. He never failed to brighten my day. When my teenage daughter become pregnant he made me see the positive in the situation, which I will forever be grateful to him for. He even brought her a gift. We were among Mike's customers for the past 7 or so years. Once, Mike made some remark about being "kind of a friend," and from then on, I always ribbed him about being "kind of a friend." Seriously, my kids knew Mike by his first name and talked about him a lot, and he kept us comfortable even when it was inconvenient and probably kept him away from his family. Leslyn will always be grateful to him for figuring out that she had no heat during an unepected early cold spell when I was out of town and coming over after a long day's work to make sure our heat worked. As others have said, he always had a joke ready, but more than that, he was a really good person and we'll miss him dearly.
