Dear Mrs. Chiacchieri & family, I am sorry for your loss. I was very happy to have the experience of Peter in my life as a teacher more than once ;-) and he inspired me to be a better person. He was one of the teachers that made the most impact in my life. I was glad to see him here and there over the years and know that he approved of the things I was doing or had done, as I looked up to him. He was a Good Man I was proud to know him and wish there are more around like him. May he RIP and you rejoice in knowing he is accepting his reward with our Lord now.

As a teenager you view him as a strict no nonsense teacher. As an adult you appreciate him for the exact same qualities. Mr. Chiacchieri knew your potential before you did and would push you to attain goals you never knew you had. His style worked and made him the best English teacher I ever had. I pray for the friends and family of Peter that they may find strength and peace in their time of need.
Mr. C I'm going to dust off Catcher In the Rye and give it a read in your memory. Rest in peace Mr. C.

February 18, 2014

Mr C... You touched my life in 1987 when no one would even talk to me. Being a student in your english class pregnant during my senior year... You made it the best year of my life. You urged me to push thru and write about this adventure I was in and that I did. Graduating with my class I remember the hug you gave and the big congrats. I will never forget you... You were indeed more than just another person. You were a hero.

To The Chiacchieri Family, Pete was one of my Dad's (Ret. Lt Col Richard P Sawyer) dearest friends and I had the pleasure to be with both of them when they served on the board for retired military. Many lunches we shared and I will never forget him. I am glad my Dad will have Pete with him on their next journey. Peace. DSJ
