My Aunt Polly was a warm, friendly, intelligent, and positive woman who made everyone in her life happy. It was always a pleasure to be in her company. She enriched my life and had a big heart.
As a child and teenager I remember how she opened her home to everyone during the holidays and other occasions. She also arranged annual dinners at her Hinesburg Church where the family had reunions every year. I have many happy memories of Thanksgiving celebrations with her and the family. It was through Polly's efforts that the family stayed in touch and stayed together. She was the family matriarch.
When Michael and I flew to Vermont to be married we were surprised and happy when Polly's smiling face greeted us at the Burlington Airport. She drove us to my parents' home in Essex Junction. We were so pleasantly surprised to see her that day.
She was a great role model for me. In fact, I became a librarian after learning that she had studied library science and had worked in several libraries. When I interviewed for my position at the Vermont Department of Libraries, the interview committee all perked up when I said Polly Quinn was my aunt.
I admired her love for and dedication to horses. Her family and my sister, Meggin, shared this passion. I'm afraid that I am terrified on a horse but I am glad the family has so many accomplished riders and committed horse lovers who have honored and carried on her tradition.
I really appreciated how much Polly cared for my mother, Ruth, as she approached the end of her life. She worked tirelessly to make sure Ruth was happy and had what she needed. Polly even attended a nursing home meeting with me to advocate on Ruth's behalf. She played that matriarch role by caring for all of her sisters, Helen, Doris, and Ruth. She frequently drove all the way to Florida to visit Helen and also made frequent visits to see Doris and Ruth.
I am grateful that Polly was my aunt. I also want to thank her for giving me four fun loving cousins Sara, Michael, Patty and Nina. I will miss Polly and she will surely be missed by the many whose lives she touched. I was deeply saddened that I didn't have an opportunity to see Polly one more time before her passing, but I am happy to know she was surrounded by her loving family who took great care of her in her last years and days.
May the happy memories everyone has of her and the love she gave to family and friends bring everyone comfort as we learn to live with her loss. I wish peace to all her family.

I spent most of my childhood at Quinn's.They probably have more pictures of me than my own parents. I am so sorry for your loss. She would take me along with her kids almost everywhere they would go.I believe my life was shaped by many of the experiences I had there. She is home now.

I enjoyed all the time spent with Polly at Morgan events, committee meetings and the Museum. We frequently traveled together to these events and had wonderful conversations about Morgan history and current events. She was a great lady. Loved to pick her up at Heyday and visit with your wonderful horses, as she was frequently still out in the barn when I arrived. My condolences to all of your family.

I'm so very sorry to hear of Polly's passing. She was such a lovely lady who I enjoyed visiting with either at AMHA or in town. Her love of Morgans certainly showed in her face when she was talking about them. She certainly will be missed.
