Fletcher - Ronald Blanton Newfield, 77, passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2018 at his home in Fletcher.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday April 22, 2018 from 2:00 - 5:00 PM at A W Rich Funeral Home - Fairfax Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Monday April 23, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Binghamville Church with Reverend Ellen Ravelin officiating. Memorial contributions in Ronald's memory may be made to Wounded Warriors and Make a Wish Foundations or charity of your choice.

I know his death was many years ago, but even to this day, the smallest things remind me of him, the stars and planets, and Egyptian writings. everytime I go to my grammies house, I hug his Eurn before I go. and I know he cant hear this but I love you Grandad </3 life was never the same without you around

I am glad to be reminded. I believe it would've been good to have Ron at the IBM breakfast group meeting the 1st Friday of each month over the years. God Bless his family and may their memories be fond ones.

Sorry for your loss.
I worked with and became a friend to Ron while I was at IBM. I have fond memories of those times. I would talk with Ron about many different topics over the years. I remember he was partial to the Avanti he kept under the roof. Also, he had a collection of Plasticville model railroad accessories. I remember promising him a railroad trestle bridge, I still have it if would be helpful in completing the collection he would pass on. Sorry not to have made the funeral. May Ron's soul rest in Peace.
