South Burlington - Ryan Rahmati, December 5th, 1991-June 9th, 2018
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our RyRy. You were one of the lucky ones if you ever received one of his famous bear hugs that smothered you with so much love. He will forever be missed by his parents Essi and Sue Rahmati along with his two siblings, Arya and his favorite girl Layla who he absolutely adored.
Ryan graduated from South Burlington High School in 2010. He later graduated from Burlington Technical Center where he completed his studies in Aviation Technology with honors. Ryan enjoyed his work at Tavern ll in Burlington, VT where he learned his culinary skills.
Ryan was predeceased by his Grandfather James Benton, Paternal Grandmother Fatima Rahmati, and Uncle Eddie Benoit. He is survived by his sweet Grandma, Marilyn Benton, his aunts, uncles, and cousins from Vermont and all across the United States, along with his family in Iran.
A private celebration of his life will be held among loved ones at his parents' home in South Burlington, VT. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Ryan's honor to COTS VT (95 North Ave Burlington, VT).

I first met Ryan at the OG and instantly we became close. He had this power that made people around him like him without even a word said. He never judged me or anyone else for any silly mistakes, and was always ready to talk to you about anything. I was attacked back in Nov 2016 and Ryan was one of the ONLY guys i was willing to talk to. I trusted him completely.....I remembered him talking about airplanes and how happy he waz to be able to one day work with them. Ryan you are now flying high in the true sky....and I know your compassion and kindness will follow me throughout my life; and those you've touched....PEACE be with you my sweet friend!

It is hard to put in words how special Ryan made me feel. The first time our eyes met, I was obsessed! His beautiful smile, his gentle eyes, I knew I was in for trouble. He continued to surprise me and show me how strong, loving and sensitive he was. I'll never forget the special time we shared, although it was cut short so soon.
He was one of the hardest working people I had ever met, but still found time to make the people in his life who he loved know that he loved them.

I knew Ryan briefly when I worked with him at the Tavern last summer. He was a wonderful person to meet and get to know. He was light-hearted, funny and happy, and made work a lot of fun. This news is truly heartbreaking, and an incredible tragedy. My deepest condolences are with your family, and I hope all the best for you as you navigate this difficult time.

Today we will celebrate the
Life of A wonderful and Sensitive young man. Ben and I and Maria and Joe are so sadden about your loss. I remember holding him In my arms the day he was born. He was a beautiful baby. I loved his bear hugs that I received from him when we celebrated the holidays and birthdays. Ryan excepted Jesus a while ago as his savior , and he is now in his loving arms. Dear Sue, Layla, and Family,
I'm so sorry for your loss of Ryan. I pray that God keeps you comforted during this very sad time and that you feel His loving arms wrapped around you.
I'm so glad that I got to know your family, first through Ryan (as a student in my 7th and 8th grade math classes), and then continuing on through Layla (also in my math classes). I remember Ryan talking about his little sister, Layla, whom I think was born when he was in my class!
