William Demming St. Amour

Age: 62 • Jericho/Gainesville, FL

William D. St. Amour, 62, passed away at the UVM Medical Center, Burlington, VT, on April 3rd after a short illness.

He was born May 15, 1953 in Burlington, VT, the son of Robert Earl St. Amour and Pauline Bogue Ellsworth. Bill grew up in Underhill and Jericho, earned a BA in Political Science at UVM, and later earned a Masters Degree in Foreign Studies @ USC. Bill served active duty in the Army as a Platoon Leader and later as a Drug & Alcohol Counselor in Erlangen Germany. He served an additional 15 years in the Vt. Army National Guards, retiring in 2000. Bill also worked 15 years for Purolator Courier Service in Burlington & then worked 15 years in the Family Advocate/Drug Counselor Program for the State of Florida. He had just retired in 2014 & moved back to Vt. to be close to family. He was a gifted Linguist, spoke 5 different languages, authored & published 3 dictionaries of Military Social & Economic terms. He loved politics, economics, was an avid reader, and an historian with a special interest in the Civil War. He was a wonderful brother and uncle to his family and extended families.

Predeceased by his parents, Bill leaves his devoted brothers & their wives & families: James & Pamela Raymond of Morrisville, Douglas & Linda St. Amour of Huntington, Thomas & Karen St. Amour of Underhill, Timmy & Sandra St. Amour of Marlboro, MA. Bill also leaves his special adopted family in Florida, Chris Clark, & Adam & Jackie Clark along with their 2 children Cameron & Layla. He was a special Uncle to all his nephews & nieces leaving Jason, Jon, Mark, & Joe St. Amour and all their families, Jeffery Raymond & Julie Bundy & their families, Daniel St. Amour & Jennifer Lester & their families, Madison St. Amour, & Griffin St. Amour. Bill will be missed also by his many grandnephews & nieces & will remain forever in the lives he touched. He was a deeply faithful and religious man, and today he is with Jesus in paradise.

A service of celebration of Bill's life will be held at the Richmond Congregational Church in Richmond on Friday, April 8th at 1:00 pm.
