Michael Thomas Franklin, 38, passed away on August 18, 2025.

Funeral Services were held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Northside Baptist Church, Burnet, Texas with interment at Bear Creek Cemetery, Bertram, Texas

Michael was born on March 11, 1987, in Georgetown, Texas to Thomas C Franklin Jr. and Alicia R. Box Turner. He attended Manor High School where he graduated in 2005. While in high school he competed in powerlifting and played golf. He still holds the deadlift record in powerlifting for the 114-weight class. Michael went on to attend Texas Tech University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with degrees in Agriculture and Applied Economics. He worked for the Texas Department of Agriculture and the Texas Water Department as a financial analyst. Michael was a member of the Northside Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodwork, painting and drawing, and playing his banjo. He also loved watching Nascar races and pulling pranks on his family and friends. Michael was a walking miracle for 30 years having beaten brain cancer as a child and he fought a hard fight this round.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Thomas Cullen Franklin and grandmother, Diane Rose Franklin; Grandfather, Alton R Box; Grandfather, Dale W Turner Sr and Grandmother, Joyce Turner

Michael is survived by his mother, Alicia R. Box Turner and her husband, Dale; father, Thomas C. Franklin Jr and his wife Georgia; grandmother, Betty Box; sister, Monica L. Fiera and husband Steve; brother, Douglas L. Turner and Gabriela; nieces and nephews, Sophia and Logan Fiero; aunts, Beverly Hans and Rebecca Franklin; uncle, Terry Hans; cousins, Matthew Meador, Lauren Cornett, and Emma Hans as well as numerous second cousins and step cousins.
