Robert Filleman Obituary

Robert (Bob) Filleman was born & raised in El Paso, TX & went to his forever home on February 26, 2025. Bob was a patriot who served 2 tours in Vietnam as a medic with the artillery. During the TET offensive he earned the bronze star which he was especially proud of. Bob married the love of his life, Judy, on November 8, 1975 in El Paso. He and Judy moved to Wyoming in 1977 for Bob's job & lived there until 1985 when they transferred to Bloomfield, NM & lived there until 2008. They finally decided to move back to Texas to be closer to family.

Survivors include his wife of almost 50 yrs, Judy, brother Richard (Lois) TX, brother David (Sandra) of NM, sisters Joan (Richard) Leach of CO, Mary Louise Cain of TX, sister-in-laws Juanita Filleman & Diane Beard, Brother-in-law James(Katherine) Rovinski VA, daughter, 2 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and numerous cousins. Bob was preceded in death by grandparents, his parents Mildred Elizabeth (Betty) and George Filleman, step-mother Virginia Filleman, brother Kenneth and step-brother Edward Beard.

Bob was taken from this life but will live on in the hearts & minds of all those who knew him. A Celebration of life was held on March 17, 2025. Final internment will be held at Ft. Bliss National cemetery for immediate family. Judy would like to thank the staff at Granite Mesa for the wonderful care they provided for Bob, also a big thank you to his Compassus Hospice staff, Bella, Rozalyn & Terra. Texas Oncology & Dr Cline for their excellent support during our difficult times. And a very special Thank You to Dr. Juliette Madrigal & her staff who took such wonderful care of Bob through his illness.
