They lived in Germany, Turkey, Okinawa, California, Kansas, and Oklahoma. They took every opportunity to travel and sightsee in every country and region they were stationed which included cities in Italy, Norway, and Taiwan, and camping with the family on the Mediterranean and Black Seas.As an Air Force wife, friends were important and through their many travels, she forged deep and long friendships with people around the world. She understood balanced nutrition and the family enjoyed home-cooked meals every night. She always made a colorful plate!
As a wife and mother, there could be no better example than Betty. She was a godly woman and was loving, and supportive, had listening ears, and gave the best advice.Betty put a priority on her education and that of her daughters. Like their mother, all four girls have received their Master's degrees. Betty was an active member of the American Association of University Women and enjoyed giving AAUW scholarships to young high school women to further their education.
