LILA BELLE SEGLEM Lila Belle Seglem, of New Cordell, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at the age of 93. Lila was born on July 14, 1929 in Ramona, Oklahoma to Sherman and Flora (Ward) Eddings. In her early days Lila was devoted to her family and the family farm. She loved to sew and make her own dresses. She grew up as the oldest of five children. She continued her enthusiasm for sewing, and added a love for cooking. She was known for making the absolutely best fried chicken. She was an excellent bookkeeper for a number of financial firms. Lila was blessed to marry the love of her life, C. Ed Seglem, in 1955. They spent thirty-five wonderful years together raising their children and traveling. They traveled all over the world, including Australia, Ireland, Germany, England, Mexico, Canada, and the Philippines. After Ed's passing in 1990, Lila spent her time focused on her grandkids. She loved to shop with them. Somehow they always managed to work in the mandatory ice cream stop--she loved her vanilla ice cream. Lila was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend. Lila is survived by her children, Jerry L. (Linda) Seglem, Cathy (Ken) Clark, and Mary (Kent) Shields; her sister Martha (Dean) Cyphers; brother-in-law, Gene Woodling; her four-legged companion, Saylor; eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Lila was preceded in death by her parents, Sherman and Flora (Ward) Eddings; brothers, Ted Eddings and Doug Eddings; sister, June Woodling; and one grandchild. Ed and Lila were devoted parishioners of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
