Anna K. Wright, 93, of Franklin Township, passed away on Monday, Dec. 12, 2022, while under the care of Good Samaritan Hospice at Heritage Valley Hospital in Beaver.
Born on April 23, 1929, in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Elder Miller and Linie Herr Miller.
Anna graduated from Lincoln High School of Ellwood City in 1947, and the Beaver Falls School of Cosmetology in 1965.
She operated her beauty shop for 15 years. She also owned and operated Anna's Children Shoppe for 16 years. Anna also worked as a secretary for Grant R. Wright Inc. and W.W. Supply & Transfer Inc., and volunteered for Meals on Wheels in Ellwood City and Zelienople.
Anna was a Girl Scout and 4-H leader, and a member of Camp Run United Presbyterian Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, elder, treasurer, member of the Friendship Circle, and former youth leader. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star 212 of Ellwood City, a member of Pleasant Hill Grange, and leader of the Camp Run Home Economics Club of Camp Run.
She was the wife of the late Grant Wright, whom she married May 14, 1949, and who passed away March 19, 2005; mother of Jennifer LaPrade of Fombell, Kathleen Hoyman and her husband, Denver, of Zellwood, Fla., and the late Bradley Wright, who passed away March 12, 2021, and his wife, Bonnie, of Fombell; grandmother of Heather (Gregory) Perry, Denver (Melanie) Hoyman, Brock (Amanda) Hoyman, Clinton (Shannon) Hoyman, Shon (Sharilyn) Wright, Curtis Wright and James (Brandy) Wright; great-grandmother of Natalie, Sophie and Xander Wright, McKenna, Denver Grant, Dalton and Vivian Hoyman, Dylan Wright and Austen Yeany; and is also survived by her extended family, Samantha and Austin Sydlik, Betty Ann, Greg and Paul Young, and Michelle, Greg, Hannah and Emily Nemtuda.
WRIGHT - Friends of Anna K. Wright, who died Monday, Dec. 12, 2022, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.
Additional visitation will be held from noon until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. Saturday at Camp Run United Presbyterian Church, 489 Church Road, Harmony, with the Rev. Jim Swanson and the Rev. Andrew Shaffer officiating.
Anna will be laid to rest at Camp Run United Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
