Augustus 'Bud' James Shaffer
Augustus "Bud" James Shaffer, 82, of Kennerdell died on Sunday at his home.
Born June 6, 1924, in Kenner-dell, he was the son of Israel Hill and Dora Elizabeth Smith Shaffer.
Mr. Shaffer has lived in Kennerdell his entire life. He enjoyed fishing and country-western music. Mr. Shaffer had a great love for the woods and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also loved his garden and dogs, especially his dog Sage.
Mr. Shaffer is survived by three children, James A. Shaffer and his wife, Brenda, of Parker, Mrs. Austin "Susan J." Brocklehurst of Kennerdell, and John W. Shaffer of Harrisburg; a stepdaughter, Diana Oakes of Franklin; five grandchildren Melinda, Devin, Austin, Kelly and Mike Shaffer; two step-grandchildren, Brad and Brian Oakes; two great-grandchildren, James and Nathan Hassey; a step- great-granddaughter, Haley Oakes, and two sisters, Lottie Healey and Mary Morgan.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Charlotte Kagle; four brothers, Bill, Oliver, John, and Robert Shaffer, and two infant brothers.
SHAFFER- The family will receive friends of Augustus "Bud" James Shaffer, who died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home, 109 Emlenton St., Clintonville.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Sung Shik Chung of the Grace United Methodist Church, Clintonville, officiating.
Burial will be at the Shaffer Family Cemetery, Venango County.
