Carl Adler Obituary
Beloved husband of the late Patricia Ann (Kiefer) Adler, Carl also was preceded in death by his son, William Adler, and his brother, Walter Adler.
He was the loving father of Carl (Bonnie) Adler Jr. of Richland, Joyce (Todd) Ziegler of Hampton, Shirley Ann (John) Smelko of Hampton, Daniel (Lisa) Adler of Butler and Patty Ann (Dave) Geyer of Valencia; and proud grandfather of 22 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
A World War II Marine veteran, Carl served as a medic, entering active duty at age 17.
Like his father before him, he went on to become a brewmaster for various breweries across the country before working with Fort Pitt Brewing in Sharpsburg and ultimately Iron City Brewing in Lawrenceville until his retirement. His greatest passions were brewing beer, enjoying the outdoors, camping and collecting wild mushrooms.
Carl also was a longtime and devoted member of the St. Richard Church, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister in addition to many other involvements.
Above all, he loved being a father and grandfather and carried tremendous pride for his especially large family. He will be greatly missed.
Adler - The family of Carl F. Adler, who passed away Sunday, June 1, 2014, will welcome friends from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Schellhaas Funeral Home, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the St. Richard Church, Gibsonia. Interment to follow in Holy Savior Catholic Cemetery, Gibsonia.
In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to St. Richard Church, c/o Guatemala Mission Group, 3841 Dickey Road, Gibsonia, PA 15044.

Carl & Bonnie, Joyce & Todd, Shirley, Danny and Patty, my sincere condolences. I haven't spoke to Mr Adler in probably 35 years but I have thought about him many many times in those years. What a man of integrity, not to mention he's raised a great family with the same morals. I know he'll be missed beyond words. Best to all.

My deepest sympathy to the entire Adler family! Mr. Adler was a great man with a heart of gold. The stories he could tell and the way he could make you laugh was awesome. I would see Mr. Adler on my way to my parents home on occasion and would always stop and say hi. Rest In Peace!
