Carol Bellis Obituary

Carol Joyce Bellis, born July 28, 1943, in Allegheny Township, Butler County, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 23, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion.
She was the cherished youngest daughter of the late Michael Elmer McKean and Dorothy Gaynell (Moore) McKean.
A devoted wife and mother, Joyce's life was deeply intertwined with her family and beloved husband, Gary J. Bellis. Celebrating 58 years of marriage, they shared a lifetime of memories, including travel to 47 states, since their wedding on Nov. 26, 1966.
Joyce poured her heart into raising her sons, Joseph J. Bellis (Linda), Colby L. Bellis, Corey L. Bellis (Joanna) and Gregory J. Bellis. Her love compounded with her five grandchildren, Amanda, Alyssa, Chelsea, Brooke and Andrew. She was the quintessential grandmother, with a helping hand, a listening ear and boundless affection. A constant source of support, from school reports to Halloween pranks to first breakups, she always went above and beyond to ensure her children and grandchildren's success.
Joyce possessed an extraordinary ability to find anything, a talent that seemed almost magical to those around her. Her passion for genealogy was profound and she dedicated countless hours tracing her family's history, connecting generations and preserving their stories. She was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), where she found community and shared her deep appreciation for history.
Her love for nature was evident in her keen interest in bird-watching, finding joy and peace in the simple beauty of the natural world. Joyce was also a gifted cook, creating meals and snacks to satisfy the tastes and appetites of her growing family. Her kitchen was a place of warmth, filled with the comforting smells of home cooking.
She was a selfless individual, always putting the needs of others before her own. Although small in size, Joyce was an indomitable pillar of strength for her family and friends, always ready to be a help and a support. Her kindness and generosity touched the lives of everyone she knew.
In addition to her children and grandchildren, Joyce is survived by her foster sister, Barbara Rovetto; and nephew, Donald McKean.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Bernice Hale, Patricia Shaw and Vivian Kiley; her brother, Kenneth McKean; and her nephew, Michael McKean.
Her memory will be forever cherished by her husband, Gary; her sons and their partners; her grandchildren; and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Joyce's love, wisdom and unwavering support will be deeply missed.
