Dale Jewart Obituary

Dale D. Jewart
Dale D. Jewart, 86, of 217 Jill Drive died Tuesday at his home.
Born Feb. 6, 1918, in Plumville, Indiana County, he was a son of Homer and Lettie McLaughlin Jewart.
He had worked for Heckett Engineering as a heavy equipment operator in Gary, Ind. Previously, he worked for Operating Engineers Union 7 in Pittsburgh and also was a crane operator on the Niagara Falls power project, the Kinzua Dam project and the Bradford flood project.
Mr. Jewart was an avid NASCAR fan, and following his retirement, he was a security guard for Daytona Motor Speedway in Florida and Talladega Motor Speedway in Alabama.
Surviving are two sons, Dale D. Jewart Jr. of Eldred, McKean County and Thomas L. Jewart of Wexford; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A sister, Coarlie Thomas of Salineville, Ohio, also survives.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice L. Shirey Jewart, who died Jan. 12, 2001; a brother, and a sister.
JEWART - Friends of Dale D. Jewart, who died Tuesday, June 8, 2004, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St. A family service will follow at 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Smicksburg Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Indiana County.
