Dominic Chutz Obituary
He was born June 4, 1922, in New Castle, to Leonard E. and Rose Chutz. Mac was a U.S. Navy veteran. He married Carmella "Molly" Bonace on Jan. 4, 1946, and she preceded him in death on April 9, 2000.
Mac retired as an owner and operator in the mining industry. His career began in partnership with his brothers operating Chutz Brothers Coal. He later owned and operated Chutz Contracting among other companies. Mac was keen minded and had great energy and enthusiasm. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, playing cards with friends and he was a voracious reader.
Survivors include his daughter, Diane L. (Jeff) Bell of Grove City; three sons, Robert M. (Ralphie) Chutz of Slippery Rock, David Charles (Penny) Chutz of Harrisville and Donald R. (Beth Yoest) Chutz of Renfrew; four grandchildren Robert, Theresa, Justin and Carley; his special friend, Verna Allen of Slippery Rock; and four great-grandchildren, Dominic, Maddox, Alylah and Johnny.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
CHUTZ - Family of Dominic Charles "Mac" Chutz, who died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2017, will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 670 S. Main St., Slippery Rock. Interment will be at the Crestview Memorial Park in Pine Township, Mercer County.

Bob and family, so sorry to read about your dad. He was such a nice man. I remember growing up on the corner of Franklin
St. In SR, going back to your mom and dad's house and all the memories of growing up as kids. Your parents were great. Your dad will be greatly missed. Deepest sympathy to y'all.

To all of the Chutz family,
I have lots of memories of being at your house growing up. Mac and Molly were quite the card players and taught me to play gin rummy. I played Mac any time he was home, and he couldn't believe that I actually beat him a few times...ha ha. Also many card games with Cass. All of you have my sympathy.
