Donald Gaiser Obituary

Donald Gary Gaiser, 85, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2025, at Luxe Rehabilitation Center in Jupiter, Fla., after a brief Illness.
Donald was born Sept. 25, 1939, in Karns City, the son of H. Donald and Dorothy Anderson Gaiser.
Don graduated from Fairview Township-Karns City High School in 1957, where he excelled both academically and as an athlete. He attended Clarion State Teachers College and was the No. 1 golfer all four years he attended. He graduated in 1961 with a Bachelor of Science in math and science. Don taught math for 34 years at East Brady High School and other schools in the Armstrong District.
He remained a talented and avid golfer, winning many country club championships and, later in life, often shooting his age or below. He and his wife, Rose, were avid runners and competed in road races across the country. After making their home in Chicora for 41 years, Don and Rose moved to sunny Stuart, Fla., in 2011, where they enjoyed an active lifestyle with friends and family.
He is survived by his sister, Doris Whitehead of East Brady and Stuart, Fla.; and his brother, Dennis Gaiser (Elaine) of Petrolia; sister-in-law, Carole Marini of Fresno, Calif.; nephews, Rick Whitehead of Stuart, Fla. and Chad (Amy) Gaiser of Douglassville, Pa.; nieces, Robin Whitehead Lee of Nashville, Tenn. and Gwen (Eric Zack) Gaiser of Pittsburgh; great-nephews, Jackson Wessel and Evan Wessel of Nashville, Tenn.; great-nieces, Lindsey (George) Blackwell of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Logan Gaiser and Keller Gaiser of Douglassville, Pa.; and numerous cousins and family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemarie Maxim Gaiser, who died in 2016; sister, Rebecca Gaiser; brother-in-law, Jack Whitehead; and nephew, Ronald Whitehead.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Discovery Village, where he spent his last years making new friends and memories, and his dear friend, Mary Killgore, for her care and support.

My condolences to the Gaiser family. My memories of Don are first of having him as a teacher at EBHS. Second I have many great memories of both Don and Rose at the Ridgeview Golf Course that my parents ran. I can remember standing behind the counter at the Pro Shop and checking in both Don and Rose. I also remember playing golf with Don who was an excellent golfer.

My prayer for Don and Rose who are together again....May the warm winds of Heaven blow softly upon your spirits and one day we will meet again.

Don was my High School algebra teacher in East Brady. He was extremely professional but also had a great sense of humor. I´ll never forget the day he paddled my for misbehaving, but it´s not a bad memory. What a great professional

I had the privilege of having Mr. Gaiser for Pre-algebra when I was in 7th grade(92-93) at EBHS. I enjoyed having him as a teacher, and he told us of his adventures.
Many condolences to his family at this time.

Mr. Gaiser was my math teacher at East Brady HS. I really enjoyed his class. His style of humor was right up my alley. I remember him dunking a volleyball while warming up for a faculty game by taking a step off the wall in the small gym. R.I.P.

Sorry to learn of Don's passing. We were friends at Clarion, living in the same dormitory. Although I hadn't seen him in years, this great guy was never forgotten. RIP old friend!

So sorry to hear. I talked to him a few years ago before our 50th class reunion. I had him as a teacher back in the 60s in his early years of teaching. I loved his class and was the reason I also chose to be a math teacher. Our deepest sympathy and prayers to his family.
