Edith Atkinson Obituary

Edith Atkinson passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Allegheny General Hospital, surrounded by her family.
She was born to George and Anna Frola in 1946 and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. She continued her education at Clarion State College where she was a cheerleader. She had an award-winning career as an English teacher in the Pine-Richland School District and Knoch High School. Edie was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Freeport.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Dennis; her children, Jennifer (Jeff) of Ohio and Adrian (Katya) of North Carolina; and her three grandchildren, Cooper, Max and Aspen. She also is survived by three brothers, John (Sharon), George (Lisa) and Dave (Kathy); sisters, Christina (Denny) and Michele (Bob); and 10 well-loved nieces and nephews.
She had a happy life of travel, reading and especially time with family.
ATKINSON - All are welcome to attend the celebration of life service for Edith Atkinson, who died Thursday, July 3, 2025, which will be held Monday, July 14, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 323 5th St., Freeport. The service will begin at 11 a.m., with the Rev. James V. Arter III officiating.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Edie's memory to Freeport Area Meals-On-Wheels, 211 Fourth St., Freeport, PA 16229.
