Edward Uber Obituary

Edward O. Uber Sr., 74, of Liberty Township, Grove City, Mercer County, passed away at 8:29 a.m. Thursday at the Grove City Medical Center.
Born on Jan. 17, 1940, in Liberty Township, Mercer County, he was the son of the late Marion Philip Uber and Edna Cole.
Edward married Beverly L. Pounds on Sept. 2, 1961.
He retired as a self-employed masonry contractor and was formerly employed by the former Cooper Energy Service, Grove City.
He was a graduate of Grove City High School, Class of 1957.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1957 to 1961.
He enjoyed his greenhouse, raising vegetables and plants.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly at home; his five sons, Edward O. Jr. and his wife, Heather, of Grove City, Jeffrey C. and his wife, Robin, of Grove City, Michael T. and his wife, Lorraine, of Huber Heights, Ohio, Kevin E. of Grove City and Phillip L. Uber and his wife, Marie, of Amherst, Ohio; his 11 grandchildren; his five great-grandchildren; and his two sisters, Phyllis Klingensmith and her husband, Ellis, of Ashtabula, Ohio, and Mary Vansickle of Grove City.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three sisters, Roberta Wilkins, Verla Mae Uber and Cora Uber.
Uber - The friends of Edward O. Uber Sr., who passed away Thursday, May 8, 2014, will be received at the Cunningham Funeral Home, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Funeral services will be at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Memorials in Mr. Uber's name may be made to the North Liberty Presbyterian Church, 209 N. Liberty-Plain Grove Road, Grove City, PA 16127.
