Janice Klinke Obituary

Janice Louise (Korn) Klinke, born Nov. 16, 1943, departed this life peacefully Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2025, leaving a legacy woven with love, dedication and cherished memories.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lois V. Griffiths Korn and Warren I. Korn of Butler; and her husband, John Francis Klinke of Detroit, Mich.
Janice's memory lives on through her daughters, Kristi Klinke-Spies (Jay), of York, Pa., and Heather Klinke-Matson (Kyle), of Phoenix, Ariz.; her adored grandchildren, Mason and Harper Spies, of York; her brother, Ronald Korn (Carol), of Oviedo, Fla.; and her niece, Maiya.
In her final years, she found joy and companionship with her loving partner, Bob Roberts of Punta Gorda, Fla. Janice's spirit also touched the lives of extended family across Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and beyond.
A proud member of Butler Senior High School's Class of 1962, Janice followed her passion for nursing at the Butler Hospital School of Nursing and completed advanced CRNA training at the Cleveland Clinic.
She devoted 42 years to serving others as a nurse anesthetist at North Hills Passavant Hospital in Pittsburgh and Butler Memorial Hospital in Butler, before concluding her career at Greater Baltimore Medical Center in Baltimore, Md., and York Memorial Hospital in York, Pa. She touched many patients while in semi-retirement, working locum tenens in surgical centers around central Pennsylvania. Her full retirement, in 2011, marked the culmination of a lifetime spent caring for others with skill and compassion.
Janice embraced life fully through traveling to new places, decorating her home with warmth and style, cooking meals that brought loved ones together, boating on sunlit waters and sharing adventures with those closest to her. An animal lover at heart, she cared for many pets over the years, and was a member of the Punta Gorda Elks Lodge.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Janice's name to Shriners Hospitals for Children or the ASPCA.
A private ceremony will take place in the summer of 2026 at West Sunbury Union Memorial Cemetery, where she will be interred with her late husband, beloved parents and extended family.
May her memory forever be a source of comfort to all who knew and loved her.
