John F. Cashdollar
John F. Cashdollar, 76, of Mars passed away Wednesday in the emergency room of UPMC, Cranberry Township.
He was born April 30, 1934, in Pittsburgh to the late Melvin and Marie Tinnemeyer Cashdollar.
He retired from the University of Pittsburgh after 38 years in the carpenter's shop.
He was a life member of the Old Union United Presbyterian Church, where he enjoyed volunteering with many church functions.
He was a member of the Penn Brotherhood Lodge 635 F.&A.M. Masonic Lodge. He also belonged to the Local 211 United Brotherhood of Carpenters from 1954 to present.
For the past 15 years, he, along with his wife, enjoyed spending the winters in Florida where they belonged to the Destin, Fla., Snowbirds.
His hobbies included tractors, farming, golfing and doing good deeds for others. Known as Pap Pap, the joy of his life was his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Bartholovic Cashdollar, who he married July 1, 1971; his children, John "Skip" (Sherry) Cashdollar Jr. of Mars, Doris A. Hartzell of Butler, Cindy (Tom) Flanagan of Syracuse, N.Y., and Dewey (Angela) Higley of Dolores, Colo.; his grandchildren, Don Hartzell, Sarah Cashdollar, Janelle Flanagan, Shauna Flanagan and Grace Higley; one sister, Jane Angeloni of Indiana; his mother-in-law, Peg Bartholovic; and a favorite visitor, his granddog Hunter.
CASHDOLLAR - Visitation for John F. Cashdollar, who died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010, will be Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Herbert R. King Funeral Home, 2841 Woodland Circle, Allison Park. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Old Union United Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, with the Rev. Dr. Peter de Vries officiating. Interment will be in the Church Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Old Union United Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, PA 16046.
