Kenneth Lockey Obituary

Kenneth Raymond Lockey, 83, of Harmony, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2025.
He was born March 29, 1942, in Philipsburg, to the late Clemens and Florence (Moslak) Lockey.
Kenneth was a 1960 graduate of Philipsburg-Osceola High School. He then went on to receive an undergraduate degree in education from Clarion University. He received a master's degree from Westminster College, continuing his education.
Kenneth taught history and economics at Seneca Valley High School until his retirement in 1999. In 1966, he started the wresting program at Seneca Valley, where he was the head coach for 33 years. The wrestling program would go on to be an important aspect of his career and personal life with the continued relationships he had created with his students.
He was a passionate outdoorsman from a young age, which he carried with him through life. He found great peace being in the outdoors, whether he was fly-fishing with his flies he had made, or hunting, camping, gardening or woodworking. An avid Pittsburgh sports fan, he was always cheering for the Steelers, Penguins and Pirates every season; whether bad or good. He also wrestled at Clarion University. Ken belonged to Divine Grace Parish, St. Gregory Church, in Zelienople.
He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Butler County Hall of Fame, the Western Pennsylvania Hall of Fame and the Pennsylvania Hall of Fame.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his daughters, Kimberly Schrader, Michele Rosso and Kristin Lytle; grandchildren, Sheigh Foster, Lea (Evan) Beers, Taylor (Kevin) Correll and Alex and Shane Lytle; great-grandchildren, Kyler Dodson, Gray Foster, Colt Foster and Cecilia Mitro; and his siblings, George Lockey, Mary Fleckenstein and Rita Morbeto.
In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Lockey; and his sister, Bonnie Winters.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Wayne Bloom for his organization of the Seneca Valley wrestling reunion picnic this past summer. Kenneth was greatly impressed with the number of former students he got to reconnect with. Additionally, family would also like to thank their neighbors, Frank Luek, Jack and Karen Sharrar, Bob and Mary Watson, and Larry and Vicki Ierardo, who watched over Ken and Mary throughout the years.
LOCKEY - Friends and family of Kenneth Raymond Lockey, who died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2025, will be received from 2 to 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22, at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.
A blessing service will follow visitation at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Seneca Valley Wrestling Association (SVWA) and mailed to Kevin Wildrick, 110 Kruger Circle, Evans City, PA 16033, or via Venmo @Kevin-Wildrick (phone #1384). Please note "Ken Lockey" on all donations.
