Kenneth W. Toy
Kenneth W. Toy, 93, of 162 Elliott Road, Buffalo Township, died at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at his home after a yearlong illness.
Born in Kittanning, Jan. 29, 1910, he was the son of Wilson S. and Grace Moore Toy.
He lived in the Buffalo Township area most of his life, and retired in 1978 from the 8-2 department bar mill at Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corp., Brackenridge, after 38 years.
He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Sarverville, a life member of the Freeport Sportsman Club and a member of the White Star and Senior Citizens of Buffalo Township. He also was president of the Sarverville Cemetery Association for years, and he enjoyed traveling, farming and playing cards
Surviving are two daughters, Shirley J. Greenawalt of Butler and Nancy K. Stover of Buffalo Township; two sons, Francis W. "Bus" and Donald K. Toy, both of Buffalo Township; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Also surviving are two brothers, Joseph C. Toy of Thousand Oaks, Calif., and Norman P. Toy of Tarentum; and three sisters, Emmaretta J. Mohney of Oceanside, Calif., Ruby E. Tegeler and Geraldine R. Crosley, both of Laguna Woods, Calif.
His wife, Dorothy Harvey Toy, died Aug. 22, 1995. He also was preceded in death by a daughter and a brother.
TOY - Friends of Kenneth W. Toy, who died Saturday, Oct. 11, 2003, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at KRYNICKI FUNERAL HOME, 1007 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sarverville. The Rev. Emery Barnett will officiate. Burial will be at Sarverville Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice, 154 Hindman Road, Butler, PA 16001; or to St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sarverville, PA 16055.
