Lillian Power Obituary

Lillian (McGurgan) Power, 86, of Mars, passed away peacefully on Friday, Dec. 1, 2023, in the care of Good Samaritan Hospice House in Wexford. Originally from Bellevue, she was one of Paul and Ruth McGurgan's 10 children, born June 17, 1937.
Preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers, she is survived by two brothers, Francis McGurgan of Prescott, Ariz., and John McGurgan of Conway. She was married to Raymond L. Power for more than 56 years, from 1958 until his passing in 2015. She is survived by their four children, Mary Ann Muska (Gary), Donna L. Power, Mark R. Power (Mark T. Phillis) and Allison P. Bajuszik (James); six grandchildren, Kevin (Whitney) Muska, Scott Muska, Ryan Muska, Holly Muska, Jason (Madison) Bajuszik and Adam Bajuszik; and three great-grandchildren, Adeline, Josephine and Leo Muska.
"Lil," as she insisted on being called, set the bar for being unapologetically tough, undeniably Irish and unwaveringly Roman Catholic. She was a 48-year member of St. Kilian Parish after moving to Mars in 1975. Her career started at G.C. Murphy Co. in Bellevue, followed by Divine Providence Hospital in Pittsburgh's North Side after nursing school, and then restarted once all her children were school-age, working part time as a registered nurse at Suburban General Hospital in Bellevue, North Hills Passavant Hospital and in Dr. Ira Baumgartel's office in Mars.
POWER - There will be no visitation, and services will be private for Lillian (McGurgan) Power, who died Friday, Dec. 1, 2023.
Donations may be made in memory of Lil to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
