Marilyn McPherson Obituary

Marilyn "Marly" R. Stiffler McPherson, 78, of Fenelton passed away Friday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.
She was born Oct. 14, 1938, in Latrobe, Pa., to the late John C. Stiffler and Mildred E. Shaffer Stiffler.
Mrs. McPherson was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during peacetime. She was a member of the National Horseshoe Pitching Association and was inducted into the Butler County Horseshoe Hall of Fame in 2001. Mrs. McPherson liked hunting, and cheering for Pitt basketball and football and also for the Steelers and Penguins.
She is survived by three sons, Thomas McPherson Jr. of Chicora, Ralph McPherson and his wife, Lori, of Butler and John McPherson and his wife, Debra, of Worthington, Pa.; two daughters, Connie Hillberry and her husband, Douglas, of Worthington, Pa., and Karen Edwards and her husband, Bruce, of Harmony; eight grandchildren, Thomas W. III and his wife, Ashton, Daniel, Ralph Jr., Michael, John, Taylor and Abigail Gregory and her husband, Corey, Emily Wise and Melissa Marree and her husband, Douglas; four great-grandchildren, Caleb, Colin and Cole Gregory and Lainey Kay Marree; one brother, Donald Stiffler and his wife, Elizabeth, of New Derry, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas "Mac" W. McPherson Sr., who she married Nov. 8, 1958, and who died Sept. 18, 2006; her infant brother, John C. Stiffler Jr.; one grandson, Zachary Holmes; and one sister, Betty Jean Hamerski.
MCPHERSON - Friends of Marilyn "Marly" R. Stiffler McPherson, who died Friday, Nov. 18, 2016, will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Alden Towberman of St. Marks Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating.
Private burial will take place at the Butler County Memorial Park.
Memorials are suggested to the Quality Life Service, 612 N. Main St., Butler, PA 16001.
