Marilyn Reed Obituary

Marilyn F. Reed, 101, a lifelong Foxburg resident, went to be with the Lord late Tuesday morning, Sept. 10, 2024, at Clarion Hospital.
Marilyn was born in Foxburg on July 29, 1923. She was the daughter of the late William and Hannah Tonks Reed.
She was a graduate of St. Petersburg-Richland Township High School. Marilyn was a lifelong active member of the Memorial Church of Our Father in Foxburg. She served as postmaster of the Foxburg Post Office for many years.
Marilyn was an avid golfer and member of the Foxburg Country Club. She was a devoted, lifelong Pittsburgh Pirates fan and, at the urging of her great-niece, Kelly Blauser, also became a Penguins fan. Marilyn enjoyed reading and crocheting. She was well-known for her decorative towels, dishcloths and tissue box covers, which were always on display at the church bazaars. Marilyn absolutely loved children and animals, especially cats. She was everyone's favorite babysitter.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews, Marilyn "Trink" Benetti, Peggy Bowser, Joyce Tremba (Roger), Patti Barger (Denny), Mike Gardner (Beth), Marsha Bartley, Bob Gardner, Barbara Master, Sandra Fleming, Deanna Hutchison, Linda Hauser (Dave), Gary Horton, Edward Horton, Jim Horton (Patty), Christy Hurrelbrink, Jeff Reed (Robin), Steve Reed, Rick Reed, Tom Reed (Cindy), Vicki Romine (Ralph), Terry Burns (Dawn "Dodi") and Dick Burns (Edith); as well as a number of great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Marilyn was the last surviving member of her immediate family and was preceded in death by her nine siblings, Alice, Gertrude, Margaret, Adda, Clara, Gloria, Muriel, William and Richard.
