Nancy Gnade Obituary

Nancy I. (Prenovitz) Gnade, 83, of Penn Township, passed away Saturday, Nov. 23, 2024.
She was born July 23, 1941, in Butler, a daughter of the late Alexander and Mary (Chernick) Prenovitz.
Nancy graduated from Butler High School, received a degree in education from Slippery Rock University and had taught fifth grade for the Mars School District for 38 years, until her retirement. Her passion and love was her teaching, she was loved by her students and well respected by her colleagues.
She loved walking her dogs, enjoyed making jewelry, reading, making (pinching) pierogies and spending time at Ocracoke Island in the Outer Banks. In her younger years, she was a member of the Musical Theatre Guild.
She is survived by her brother, Alec (Toni Lee) Prenovitz; her sister, Susan Russo; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Gnade; and her brother, Harry Prenovitz.
GNADE - Friends of Nancy I. (Prenovitz) Gnade, who died Saturday, Nov. 23, 2024, will be received from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, at the funeral home, the Rev. Paisius McGrath to officiate.
