Robert Angert Obituary

Robert L. "Bob" Angert, 79, of Butler, passed away peacefully Monday, April 29, 2024, with family by his side at Shelbourne Nursing Home.
Bob was born June 12, 1944, in Butler, to the late Victor Angert and Edith (Means) Angert.
Bob was known as "Pap" by his grandchildren and loved spending time with his family. He loved going on vacation with his whole family, picnics, and watching the Steelers together. Bob was always on the sidelines of his children and grandchildren's activities and sports. Bob was always the first to greet you with a welcoming smile and genuinely cared about others.
Bob was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing and camping in the Allegheny National Forest. He never missed the first day of trout season and made annual trips to Erie for steelhead. Bob was also a card shark and would have no problem winning a game of pool.
Bob is survived by two daughters, Donna (Dave) Snyder and Toni (Scott) Michael; five grandchildren, Jessica (George) Alexander, Joshua (Sam) Snyder, April (Peter) Fedor, Lindsay (Richard Zedreck Jr.) Michael and Jeremy (Trinity) Michael; seven great-grandchildren, Harper, Paisley, Sophia, Augustus, Emma, Theodore and Kenton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy "Dolly" (Codispot) Angert, whom he married Sept. 18, 1965. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, John Angert, Paul Angert and Victor Angert Jr.; and three sisters, Doris Mae, Helen Keagle and Veda Regis.
The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at Shelbourne for their kindness and support during Bob's stay. It was comforting to see how well the staff treated Bob, as if he were one of their own family members.
ANGERT - Friends of Robert L. "Bob" Angert, who died Monday, April 29, 2024, will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 4, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Butler, with officiant Diane Petrak. Full military honors will follow.
A private burial will be held at St. Michael's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at act.alz.org.

I loved when your mom and dad would visit your cousin Dianne Harigan.Dianne is my best friend. Your dad would tell us stories that had us in tears from laughing so hard. The best one was the Aqua Net story, when he unexpectedly went through the wall.
My husband and your dad built Katie and Daniels swing set together. He truly was one in a million.
You have our deepest sympathy.

My deepest sympathy to Bob's family. We were kids together in the West End. Although I had not seen him since those days, I never forgot this childhood friend. RIP!!
