Robert Vollrath Obituary
Born on May 24, 1927, in Zelienople, he was the son of the late George A. and Mary Rassman Vollrath.
Popeye was an avid deer hunter who truly treasured the numerous hunting trips shared with his son and son-in-law. At the age of 81, he still had the amazing ability to shoot a buck with his crossbow.
After 37 years of dedicated service, Popeye retired in 1992 from American Plating, Inc.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 48 years, Violet "De" Gebhardt Vollrath, whom he married on June 17, 1966; his two loving children, Melissa (Keith) Richards and Mark Vollrath; his sister, Mae Wagner, and his numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Popeye was preceded in death by his two sons, Douglas C. Vollrath and Thomas R. Vollrath, and his four siblings, George A. Vollrath Jr., John Vollrath, Margie Klingensmith, and Mary "Sis" Himes.
Vollrath- Services and interment for Robert C. "Popeye" Vollrath, who passed away Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014, will be private by Popeye's family.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Boylan Funeral Home, Zelienople.
In lieu of flowers, Popeye's family suggests memorial contributions be made in his honor in support of the Butler County Humane Society, 1015 Evans City Road, Renfrew, PA 16053 or Animal Friends, 562 Camp Horne Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15237.

Worked with Popeye at American Plating. I stopped by on the 4th of July and talked with him a bit. Great Guy!!! He will be remembered by me always.
