Rosemarie Schawalder Obituary
Born on April 19, 1927, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Theodore Galewski and Helen Switalski.
Rosemarie was an active member of St. Kilian Church in Mars, and later at St. Gregory Church in Zelienople, where she volunteered in multiple capacities.
She was married to her loving husband, Richard Schawalder, for 65 years, until his passing on July 2, 2012.
She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
Rosemarie leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Richard G. Schawalder of Butler, Joanne (David) Gorney of Anderson, S.C., and Elaine (Larry) Thomas of North Hampton, N.H.
She also leaves behind 13 grandchildren, Brian, Jamie, Sarah, Mary, David, Katie, Mandy, Kristen, Angela, Michael T., Michael K., Jennifer and Emily; and 27 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Rosemarie was preceded in death by her husband, Richard A. Schawalder; daughter, Rosemarie Koska; brother, Theodore Galewski Jr.; and sister, Helen Schulties.
SCHAWALDER - A private family viewing for Rosemarie Schawalder, who died Thursday, Aug. 18, 2022, will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, 2022, at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.
A Catholic funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Divine Grace Parish at St. Gregory Church.
Rosemarie will be laid to rest at St. Gregory Cemetery in Zelienople.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rosemarie's honor to the Passavant Benevolent Fund,105 Burgess Drive, Zelienople, PA 16063, or www.lutheranseniorlife.org/donate.
Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
