Scott Marlin Obituary

Scott O. Marlin, 62, of Richland Township, lost his long battle with cancer Tuesday, April 22, 2025, with his family by his side.
Scott was always known for being full of life. If he wasn't hard at work, he was helping someone else.
He enjoyed spending his weekends at camp, loved the outdoors and being on the water, especially boating and kayaking.
He will be greatly missed by his family for many reasons but will best be remembered by his wife, Linda, for always requesting their wedding song, "Wonderful Tonight" by Eric Clapton, on their night out so he could sing it to her. His daughter, Kelly, will miss the running joke that she will need to pick up her own yard sale treasures, and Sara will have to remember to empty out her own dryer filter. The grandkids will miss his late-night hot chocolates and his summer cannon balls into the pool in his red, white and blue swim trunks. Beverly will miss her birthday twin and exchanging birthday cards every year with a one-dollar bill and dancing and singing to their song "Blind Melon."
Scott was always quiet and a man of few words but after a couple beers he was the life of any party. When we were finally able to get the karaoke mic out of his hand at the end of the night, he would say then and now, "Elvis has left the building."
Scott is survived by his loving wife and soulmate of 30 years, Linda; his daughters, Kelly (Joe) DeMeio-Gizzi and Sara DeMeio; grandchildren, Lexi, Aiden, Brooklyn (Cortner) and JoJo (Gizzi). He is also survived by his siblings, Edward, Kelly, Bobby and Mike (Michelle) Marlin; sister-in-law, Beverly (Dan) Bowser; and brother-in-law, Scott (Valerie) Smith; and nieces and nephews Nick, Jesse, Autumn, Josh, Tina, Connor, Scottie, Matthew, Taylor and Brady.
Scott was preceded in death by both of his parents, William and JoAnn Marlin; brother, William (Debby) Marlin; and brother-in-law, Robert Barber.
We would like to extend a special thank you to Bridges Hospice for the wonderful care that they provided for Scott.
