Dear Jackie and family,
So sorry to hear of Scott's passing. I remember him well from my days at Culver (1965-1969) but lost touch over the years.
I'm so grateful to hear of Scott's work with the Kairos Prison Ministry and to know that my brother-in-Christ is now at home.
May God's peace be with you and comfort your family in this time of sorrow.
Blessings,
Steve & Celeste Wesner

Scott was my freshman roommate at Princeton, and we both joined Tower Club as upperclassmen. We had many adventures during our college years. I had the privilege of meeting his parents and sister and send condolences to all his family and friends.

I have many wonderful memories of growing up and living acrosss the street from Scott and his family. The neighborhood kids spent many hours playing cards and Release and pummeling each other with apples and crab apples . My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of a childhood buddy. Scott and I were not only team mates on the Avonworth High
B-Ball and football teams but also backyard neighbors. Our fathers built the basketball court in his backyard and we were always doing something. He left for Culver Military School and we lost contact. I will always remember our good times in Ben Avon. Once again I am so sorry for your loss.

Dear Jackie and family,
I was so distressed to hear of Scott's death. It was wonderful to visit with both of you last year and I'm grateful we had that visit. I'll be thinking of you as you adjust to life without Scott. All the best to your family.
Fondly,
Hugh Beswick

We deeply greave the loss of this gentle giant. Scott was a crusader who's passion was seeing the growth/spread of an Internationally Ministry dedicated to bringing the Gospel message to the incarcerated. He was on one of the teams that took this message into SCI Greene. Due to Scott's influence, my husband was introduced and became involved with Kairos after attending a weekend closing ceremony. It was a life changer for him. Ron tackled leadership in the ministry. This was a GOD thing. I was my husband's co-leader on a weekend. We did it together.
Scott held the position of PA State Financial Secretary for Kairos Prison Ministry. After the death of the State Treasurer, Scott approached me to consider stepping into the position. As treasurer, most of my efforts involved working in tandem with him in responding to his requests for payment and sending it to the appropriate address.
.
It was just one year ago that I attended a Church weekend retreat in October 2015 with Scott and Jackie. Saturday afternoon, during "free time" we engaged in lengthy discussions about the ministry. Scott reflected on his experience of prison employees in leadership that had either hindered or effected positive change in the prison environment.
He discussed doing a spaghetti dinner in the Butler area as a fundraiser - he and Jackie did it later that year.
Scott was a great example in leadership:
Arranging meetings to help bridge the divide between Pittsburgh and Philadelphia;
Arranged gatherings to help educate the volunteer base;
Arranged for prison officials to come and speak to us about the "system."
Scott help in the process of doors opening for Kairos to enter SCI Fayette.
I admired this gentle giant! He will be GREATLY missed ... as a friend, co-worker and brother in Christ. Judy Yadrick
