Thelma Ambuster Obituary
Thelma was born on Sept. 11, 1937, in Slippery Rock. She was the daughter of the late Ray Thomas Schelatree and the late Hazel Frances McConnell Schelatree.
She had been employed in the housekeeping department at the Autumn Grove Care Center.
Thelma was a member of the former Rebekah Lodge in West Sunbury.
Thelma is survived by her son, Thomas V. Ambuster and his wife, Elaine, of Butler, and her four granddaughters, Victoria (Douglas) Windon, Kimberly (Daniel) Walter, Tammy (D.J. Johnson) Osborne, and Samantha (Antoine Taylor) Ambuster. Also surviving are her three great-grandchildren, Isabella Osborne, Trey Osborne and Kylee Windon.
Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel V. Ambuster, who died on Jan. 6, 2005, and her three brothers.
Ambuster - The friends of Thelma I. Ambuster, who passed away Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, will be received at the William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. The funeral services will be at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Matt Kail of the Muddycreek Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Butler County Memorial Park.

Thelma worked for us at Autumn Grove Care Center for many years. She was a lovely caring person who was admired by all who knew her.
We felt privileged to have such a special person on our staff. Her willingness to help others and be a team player set an example for others to follow. We will always remember her smiling face with fond memories.
